Born in Bridgend, Wales, Huw studied architecture at South Bank University in London and gained a diploma in architecture with Royal Institute of British Architects, studying as an independent candidate.
Following graduation, between 1987-1990 Huw worked in the London studios of Eva Jiricna and Richard Rogers, and between 1990-2000 with Foster and Partners in their London and German offices.
Huw moved to Sydney in 2000, and worked for Hassell architects prior to starting Collins and Turner in 2002. Together with Penny Collins, Huw takes responsibility for all aspects of the practice’s work.
Huw has taught regularly at South Bank University, Sydney University, and UTS, UNSW, and lectured in the UK, Sweden, and Australia.
